Summer Reading Kickoff

Thursday

June 25

6 - 7 pm

Sign up for a big adventure this summer at your library! Come to our Summer Reading Kickoff party where we will distribute Summer Reading packets as well as go over all the exciting events we have this summer, including a trip to see real life dinosaur fossils and a visit to the Cohanzick Zoo!

Flag Magnet

Tuesday, June 30th - 1 pm

For the 250th Celebration of our country, let’s make an easy patriotic activity using popsicle sticks, felt, and/or cardboard painted in red, white, and blue to resemble the American flag. We can celebrate by showing this awesome craft on the refrigerator!

Hometown Heroes

Thursday, July 2nd - 1 pm



Meet the real heroes of our community! The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department will share information and read stories to all who attend.

Flag Keychain

Tuesday, July 7th - 1 pm

Not only did we make a magnet, but now we can make a keychain! You can carry the celebration on your keys, backpack, or even zipper! Come join us to make this fabulous patriotic keychain!

Puppy Play with the 4-H

Thursday, July 9th - 1 pm

Members of the local 4-H Chapter will be coming to both teach the youth about service animals as well as let the pet-deprived of us give the love all dogs deserve: pets!

Salt Dough Fossils

Tuesday, July 14th - 1 pm

Want to know where to find a fossil? Let’s just make our own! Not only will we be exploring dinosaurs this summer, but we can also search for their fossils. From the dough to the bones, let’s explore this craft. Best part, you get to keep this and dig up your own unique fossilized creation!

Amber Fossil Making

Thursday, July 16th - 1 pm

Want to know how to preserve the DNA of ancient and possibly extinct creatures? Let’s find out together by making our own amber fossils!

Bag Decorating

Tuesday, July 21st - 1 pm

Let out your inner designer onto a blank canvas bag to decorate any way you want. Will you make it about summer fun, to show off what you love, or express another aspect of your personality?

Come join us and figure out how creative

you can be!

LEGO Club

Tuesday, July 21st - 6 pm

Build themed Lego designs with family and friends. Registration is required. Intended for grades K - 7

Dino Dig

Thursday, July 23rd - 1 pm

Let’s do a dig! We are going to be excavating for bones and fossils. This will be an outside activity, so be sure to wear clothes you will not mind getting a little messy. Let’s explore and see if we can find some dinosaur bones, gems, or even arrowheads!

Edelman Fossil Park & Museum at Rowan University

Tuesday, July 28th - 9 am - 3 pm

Go on an adventure with us! We will be leaving from the Millville Public Library by bus at 9:15 am exactly, so don’t be late! We will not wait for stragglers. This event is space limited, so first-come-first-serve on registering to attend. You MUST REGISTER ahead of time if you and your child wish to attend. There are 30 total slots. A picnic lunch will be provided.* We anticipate to return to the library by 3 pm the same day.A $5 CASH DEPOSIT is due during registration to secure your spot. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Perler Bead Craft

Thursday, July 30th - 1 pm

Make your own creative design using perler beads that you make and we iron together! What will you make? A frog? A butterfly? A flower? The best part is that you get to decide all by yourself!

Visit to the Cohanzick Zoo

Tuesday, Aug 4th - 10 am - 2 pm

We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo! What about you, you, you?

A visit to the Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, NJ. Attendees will meet at the Millville Public Library at 9:30 am and form a convoy of their own vehicles to the zoo. No bus will be provided, so make arrangements with one another! Picnic lunch will be provided*, so just make sure to wear your walking shoes! REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED

Dirt Cups

Thursday, Aug 6th - 1 pm

Who hasn’t wanted to eat mud ever since they were a baby? Well now you can! Our edible dirt cup craft is even complete with worms. Can you guess what kind?

Tori’s Critters

Tuesday, Aug 11th - 1 pm

Miss Tori and her host of wacky critters will be visiting the library to entertain and inform everyone about the marvels of the animal kingdom. She will also be sharing some of her favorite fossils in her collection!
