PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE!

The Millville Public Library is grateful to the Carley Foundation for their generous donation of 1 million dollars. The New Jersey State Library made matching funds available through the Library Construction Bond Act. In addition, we will receive tax dollars from the residents of the City of Millville and over 200 private donations.

This project is supported by funds from the New Jersey Construction Bond Act, administered by the New Jersey State Library.

THE PLAN
Using your kind donations, the Millville Public Library will provide a new and improved library space. The existing library will be expanded, and new activities and programs will be available for area adults and children. The library will become home to more cultural and educational events.

THE DETAILS
The Millville Public Library strives to enrich the lives of all residents; encouraging connection and collaboration with others, providing possibilities to learn, create, and share achievements in an accessible and welcoming environment.  Since the doors opened in 1864, the Library has provided a welcoming space for residents to learn, to work with others, and to prepare themselves for new opportunities. It is with this industrial spirit in mind that the library thanks you, its loyal patrons, for your financial help.

This large project will allow us to expand the building, update all original infrastructure, improve collection displays and shelving, and create meeting rooms and designated working spaces for local groups and educational events. This proposed expansion hits at many of the needs of our community. In the short term it will create jobs, but the long term effect it will have, helping to create and maintain an educated and well-informed work force, will have lasting effects on an area that craves revitalization. We have high hopes knowing that this major library overhaul can, and will, help our community.
