Your Millville Public Library is in need of a major renovation.
Help us revamp our space with more opportunities
for our friends and neighbors.
THE CARLEY FOUNDATION CHALLENGE!
The Millville Public Library is working with the Carley Foundation to raise funds to revamp and expand the existing library and build upon its resources. The Carley Foundation will generously donate 1 million dollars in matching funds, but we need your help to get there! Our full capital raising goal is 4 million dollars to complete a major overhaul of our facilities.
This brand of fundraising campaign helps to keep taxes low for our community, so we can focus more on programs for children and adults!
Using your kind donation, the Millville Public Library will get to work on a new and improved library space. The existing library will be expanded, and new activities and programs will be available for area adults and children. The library will become home to more cultural and educational events, we won’t just be about the books!
The Millville Public Library has always considered itself to be Millville’s front porch; a burgeoning community epicenter that could not only provide books, but opportunities for its residents. Since the doors opened in 1864, the Library has provided a welcoming space for residents to learn, to work with others, and to prepare themselves for new opportunities. It is with this industrial spirit in mind that the library now asks you, its loyal patron, for help.
Our library is now engaged in a campaign to extend our facility, both in physical space and the programs and opportunities it will be able to offer.
This large project will allow us to expand the building, update all original infrastructure, improve collection displays and shelving, and create meeting rooms and designated working spaces for local groups and educational events. This proposed expansion hits at many of the needs of our community. In the short term it will create jobs, but the long term effect it will have, helping to create and maintain an educated and well-informed work force, will have lasting effects on an area that craves revitalization. We have high hopes knowing that this major library overhaul can, and will, help our Cumberland County residents.
